Frequently Asked Questions
What certification do I need to work as a Med Tech in PA?
You need active PA Medication Administration certification appropriate to your setting (personal care, assisted living, IDD, or behavioral health — the certifications are similar but setting-specific). Most Med Techs also hold a PCA, CNA, or DSP credential. We’ll confirm what each assignment requires.
Is Med Tech the same as Med Aide?
Functionally similar; the title varies by state. In PA the most common formal title is Medication Technician, and the most common certification path is the PA Medication Administration course for personal care or IDD settings.
Do you place Med Techs in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs)?
SNFs typically administer medications with licensed nurses (RN/LPN). Med Tech roles in PA are most common in personal care, assisted living, IDD, and behavioral health. If you’re a CMA looking for clinical-setting work, ask us about CNA or PCA shifts.
How often do I get paid?
Weekly direct deposit Friday.
Can I work Med Tech shifts and PCA shifts the same week?
Yes — many of our Med Techs do exactly that. Use the mobile app to claim a mix that fits your schedule.
